Rotton Takes on 30-Day Triathlon Challenge

April 14, 2026 2 min read

We’re proud to be supporting an incredible local effort as Nic Rotton takes on a truly demanding endurance challenge right here in Nottingham.

Nic, a former banker and finance broker from Gedling, is gearing up to complete the equivalent of 30 Olympic-distance triathlons in 30 days. all to raise funds for Vasculitis UK, a charity that supported him through a rare and life-threatening illness.

A Challenge with Real Purpose

Nic’s story is what makes this challenge so powerful. After being diagnosed in 2021 with Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) a rare autoimmune condition. He faced serious health complications affecting his kidneys, spleen and, more recently, his sinuses, which left him partially deaf.

Now in remission, but still immunocompromised, he’s set himself the goal of raising £15,000 for Vasculitis UK, while also helping to raise awareness of the condition.

How We’re Supporting Nic

When we first heard about Nic’s challenge, we knew we wanted to get involved.

As a Nottingham-based business, supporting people in our local community is something that really matters to us. Especially when it comes to initiatives that promote resilience, wellbeing and positive impact.

We’ve been able to support Nic by providing access to one of our Wattbike performance bikes to help with his training. Preparing for something of this scale is no small task, and having the right equipment can make all the difference.

Nic said:

“Training for something like this was always going to be tough, especially given my health.
Having access to the Wattbike has made a huge difference. It’s allowed me to build up my fitness in a controlled way and given me confidence going into the challenge.
It also feels fitting to have that support from a Nottingham company, given the city’s history with cycling.”

A Nottingham Challenge Through and Through

There’s something special about this challenge being rooted in Nottingham. The city has a long-standing connection to cycling widely known as the birthplace of Raleigh and it’s great to see that legacy continue through local people and initiatives like this.

Nic’s challenge will start and finish at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, with the club also showing its support.

30 Days. 30 Triathlons.

Over 30 days, Nic will:

  • Swim one mile
  • Cycle 25 miles
  • Walk six miles

Every single day.

It’s an incredible test of endurance, determination and mental strength and we’re delighted to be a small part of helping him prepare for it.

Why It Matters

For Nic, this is about more than just completing a challenge.

“This challenge is about pushing myself, but more importantly it’s about raising awareness of vasculitis and supporting others who are going through similar experiences.
The support I’ve had so far has been fantastic, and it really does make a difference.”

We couldn’t agree more. Stories like Nic’s are exactly why we’re passionate about supporting our community.

Nic will be sharing updates throughout the 30 days on social media and via his website, so you can follow along, show your support, and help him reach his fundraising goal.
